TRICON SUPPORTS THE ELKO INSTITUTE FOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Mining operations tend to be located in rural environments with challenging weather and geographic conditions. Elko, Nevada is a perfect example. With a population of 20,000 residents, it is the largest city for over 130 miles in each direction. These communities build a reliance on each other and take great pride in helping their neighbors succeed.

Tricon values its role in this tight-knit community. We are proud to support the Elko Institute for Academic Achievement (EIAA). EIAA is the first K-8 free public charter school in Northeastern Nevada. EIAA prides itself in student preparedness for the real-world. They partner with several local businesses and industries to provide students with hands-on experience that will serve their future needs.

Tricon’s Elko Plant Manager, Jay Byars, was on location for the opening of the classroom sponsored by Tricon. He was joined by Tricon team member, Elizabeth Arellano, and her daughter, Jimena Ortiz. Jimena is a student at EIAA and will be attending classes in the room Tricon has sponsored.

We would like to thank the administration and teachers at EIAA for their efforts to prepare the next generation of Nevada engineers, technicians and business leaders.
