These 20″ wyes are fabricated from our Ultra 600 abrasion-resistant steel that is engineered with proprietary chemistry to extend its lifespan up to six times longer than standard mild steel pipe.
This set of pipes was created for a phosphate mining operation in the southeastern United States. You may notice the water on the floor in the welding image. We use welding stations equipped with water quenching systems to reduce temperatures on the inner pipe surfaces. By controlling the temps during welding, we preserve the 600 BHN hardness on the ID.
