ULTRA TECH INTRODUCES NEW COUPLING

Ultra Tech is excited to announce the release of our Ultra Duty 8” High Pressure Coupling. It is safer, lighter, and best of all, affordable when compared to other premium couplings on the market. Reach out to our team to see firsthand how the Ultra Tech UD-8 Coupling is changing the game.

Key Features:

Designed for high pressure systems – 2,650psi (182bar)

SAFER! – Our forgings will bend before breaking, causing pressure loss before catastrophic failure. Our competitors castings will not bend. They are brittle and have a violent failure mode.

LIGHTER! – Low weight ‐ 43.8lbs (19.9kg) almost half the weight of our competitors! Making it easier to install.

VALUE! – Better design and manufacturing result in a more reasonable price point.

CUSTOMER INPUT DIRECTS NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AT ULTRA TECH: LAUNCH OF NEW, SUPERIOR COUPLING SHOWCASES CUSTOMER-CENTERED APPROACH TO INNOVATION

Port Washington, WI (June 18, 2024) – Ultra Tech demonstrates their customer-centric approach to new product development with the release of the Ultra Duty 8” High Pressure Forged Coupling for high pressure hydraulic applications. Focused on both the customer and innovation, Ultra Tech integrates customer feedback during research and development to provide world-class wear solutions.
John Schantz, VP of Research and Development says, “At Ultra Tech, our relentless focus on the customer drives everything we invent, imagine, and create. We listen to customer input to develop specific products and services that solve real problems.” Customers were looking for a coupling that would meet system pressure demands, install more easily, and have an overall better user experience than what is currently available on the market.

“With the UD-8, we’ve developed our best coupling yet with a variety of improved design features to meet our customer demands for better pressure ratings and user experience,” says Chief Commercial Officer, Anthony Stanley.

The new Ultra Duty 8” High Pressure Coupling (C80BBD‐HPF) meets customer needs with:

  • Longer wear life and higher pressure ratings
    • Slip fit design eliminates the need for a cut groove on the pipe allowing this coupling to exceed the pressure ratings of previous models at 2,650psi (182bar)
  • Easy to install
    • According to The U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the maximum weight to be lifted by one person is 51lbs (1). At a low weight of 43.8lbs (19.9kg) — almost half the weight of competitor couplings — and a simple 2‐bolt design instead of 4, the UD-8 makes installation quicker, safer and easier.
  • Better user experience
    • Slip fit design instead of a male/female connection means no need to jack pipe apart to disconnect from the system
    • Safer failure mode with ductile forgings that bend and release pressure before breaking. Cast clamps are brittle and can fail violently.
  • Best Value! – Better design and manufacturing result in a more attractive price point.

Stanley says, “The UD-8 Coupling is safer, lighter, and more affordable when compared to other premium couplings on the market. Our superior, proprietary design and manufacturing allow us to offer a high-performing product at an attractive price point.”
